  • Textile sample is tested to ensure quality and performance standards are met
  • Design is evaluated to determine necessary modifications.
  • Production process is evaluated to determine necessary improvements
  • Overall evaluation of design and process is confirmed and process and improvements documented.

Element: Finalise textile design
  • Evaluation of textile sample design and process is discussed with design team and production personnel
  • Modifications to design and production process are incorporated into design
  • Final design is confirmed and documented

Evidence Required

List the assessment methods to be used and the context and resources required for assessment. Copy and paste the relevant sections from the evidence guide below and then re-write these in plain English.

The Evidence Guide provides advice on assessment and must be read in conjunction with the Performance Criteria, Required Skills and Knowledge, the Range Statement and the Assessment Guidelines for the Training Package.

Critical aspects of evidence to be considered

Demonstrates skills and knowledge to:

analyse commercial textile markets to identify commercial opportunities

develop a design brief

develop and test designs

communicate with a range of industry experts and personnel

produce and evaluate textile product sample

evaluate design and production processes and make modifications

apply OHS practices in work operations

maintain accurate records

Consistency in performance

Consistently applies skills and knowledge when:

organising work

completing tasks

identifying improvements

using workplace practices

using OHS practices

recording and reporting accidents and incidents

assessing operational readiness of equipment used and work processes

recognising and adapting to cultural differences in the workplace, including modes of behaviour and interactions

completing work systematically with attention to detail and without damage to goods and equipment

Resource implications

Access is required to real or appropriately simulated situations, including work areas, materials and equipment, and to information on workplace practices and OHS practices.

Context for assessment

Assessment may occur on the job or in an appropriately simulated environment.

Interdependent assessment

This unit may be assessed independently or in combination with other relevant units.

Submission Requirements

List each assessment task's title, type (eg project, observation/demonstration, essay, assignment, checklist) and due date here

Assessment task 1: [title]      Due date:

(add new lines for each of the assessment tasks)

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

This describes the essential skills and knowledge and their level, required for this unit.

Demonstrates knowledge of:

commercial markets for textile production

market research practices and information sources

processes in textile design development

the elements and principles of design
